Getting started
- Open Photo Dedup and allow Photo Library access (preferably All Photos).
- Wait for on-device grouping, then open the Review tab.
- Swipe or compare to keep one or more photos, then delete the rest.
- Use Timeline to browse by date and multi-select when you want a wider cleanup.
Tips for better results
- Grant full library access so groups aren’t limited to a partial set.
- Start with recent bursts and lookalikes — that’s usually where space is wasted.
- When unsure, keep more than one shot in a group; you can delete later.
- After deleting, check iOS storage; Recently Deleted still counts until emptied.
Common questions
Is Photo Dedup free?
Yes. The app is free to download and use. Core cleanup features do not require a subscription.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Analysis runs on your device. We don’t operate a photo-upload backend for this app. See the Privacy Policy.
Photos not appearing
Go to iOS Settings → Photo Dedup → Photos and allow full access. Then reopen the app.
Large libraries feel slow at first
The first scan focuses on recent photos (about 1,500) so you can start reviewing sooner.
I deleted something by mistake
Open the system Photos app → Recently Deleted. Items are usually recoverable for about 30 days.
Is there a Home Screen widget?
Not in v1.0. The main app covers Review, Compare, Timeline, and Settings.
How do I share keepers?
After selecting photos, use the system share sheet to send via Messages, WeChat, Mail, and other apps.
